Our Campaign’s People-First Priorities

Healthcare Access & Medicare-For-All

Health care is a human right.

As a healthcare worker, I saw how our pain is used to generate private profits. We have the most expensive healthcare in the world with the worst outcomes of any developed country.

I will fight for single-payer universal health coverage with Medicare-For-All including full coverage for dental, vision, and hearing.

I support empirical scientific consensus on healthcare issues like reproductive treatment, immunization, and gender-affirming care.

I will work to sustain rural hospitals and build federal hospitals with minimum funding and specialty care.

End Genocide & Wars

No support for crimes against humanity!

The Army teaches that collective punishment, forced starvation, and targeting of civilians are war crimes that threaten our national security.

No more money or weapons to support Israel's or any country's apartheid, genocide, or war crimes.

I oppose illegal, offensive, and unjust wars and the creation of PTSD and moral injury for our sons and daughters in uniform.

I support creating a just and lasting peace that centers those who have been harmed. I'll work to hold accountable every person who commits crimes against humanity.

Never again means never again for anyone.

Affordable Housing

Everyone deserves a safe, stable place to live.

I'll work to build public housing and create public financing for low- and middle-income housing.

I'll work to end homelessness with housing-first policies and homelessness prevention programs.

I'll seek to create a federally-backed Civil Service Home Loan like a VA Loan to allow teachers, social workers, caregivers, and others who benefit society to purchase a home without a down payment.

I'll work to ban corporate and foreign speculative ownership of single family homes.

We must ensure everyone can stay and thrive in the communities they call home.

Good Jobs, Livable Wages & Labor Power

Civil Service jobs and power to the people.

Democracy thrives when there is low inequality and working people have good jobs with strong labor protections.

I will fight for a federal jobs guarantee with a Civil Service Corps offering good union jobs in infrastructure, housing development, green energy, and social services for all who want them.

I support an inflation-adjusted livable minimum wage indexed to the cost of living and a universal basic income.

I support passing the PRO Act(➚) to expand workers' rights including collective bargaining, the right to organize, and the right to strike for all workers, including federally-restricted ones like air traffic controllers, rail-workers, and postal carriers.

Level the playing field for workers!

Defend The Constitution

Protect our rights and freedoms!

When I joined the U.S. Army, I swore an oath to defend the Constitution and the rights granted to all people in the US, not just citizens.

That includes freedom of speech & religion, due process, and no military or secret police on our streets.

We must hold accountable the people who have violated our Constitution!

LGBTQIA+ Rights

LGBTQIA+ rights are human rights!

Trans and queer people have always existed. LGBTQIA+ people deserve the same rights and protections as everyone else.

I will fight to enshrine LGBTQIA+ rights and end the ability of the Epstein class to divide us with bigotry while they hurt our children, rob us blind, and take away our freedoms.

Reproductive Justice & Women's Rights

Protect children & reproductive freedoms!

SisterSong defines Reproductive Justice(➚) as the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.

I support universal childcare, access to fertility treatments like IVF, expanded funding into research affecting women's bodies like PCOS and endometriosis, and a Constitutional right to reproductive care.

Groceries, Nutrition & Food Security

Reliable, affordable access to nutritious food is a human right!

Too often, we treat food access as a luxury rather than as a fundamental need and right. I'll fight to protect SNAP, end food deserts with subsidized community stores, and expand WIC to all new mothers.

Meet Captain Chris Bennett

Chris Bennett, candidate for U.S. Congress

I'm a disabled Army veteran running for U.S. Congress in California's 3rd district to fight for everyday people, not billionaires, lobbyists, or genocidal foreign countries.

I put people first.

I'm the oldest brother of eleven siblings, and I know firsthand what it's like to worry about putting food on the table and making rent.

After 9/11, I chose to serve my country in the Army like so many of my family before me. When I graduated from West Point, I swore to defend the Constitution and the rights it guarantees, like due process, freedom of speech, and the rule of law.

In the Army, I served overseas in artillery and in the states defending our nation’s computer networks as a cyber officer. After the Army, I worked in nonprofit health care and tech strategy, earning my MBA from the Haas School of Business.

I’ve been shaped by many teachers in my 35 years - my parents, my wife, West Point, the Army, and Berkeley to name a few.

Each one instilling values I still carry: to help those in need, stand up to bullies, choose the harder right over the easier wrong, lead by example, and question the status quo.

But today, we’re watching billionaires harvest our data, steal from the poor, and destroy our safety net, while Congress takes a handout to look the other way. Both parties have been corrupted by wealthy interests, and too many politicians have abandoned us to appease their donors.

When I saw ordinary people being disappeared off the street by masked thugs without due process, I couldn’t stay on the sidelines. So I left my job to run for Congress, to stand up to unchecked power and fight for the future we all deserve.

I refuse any money from corporate PACs or lobbyists. I’m fighting for our basic needs - affordable housing & groceries, Medicare For All, Social Security, the VA, and our basic human rights.

This campaign isn’t backed by big donors, it’s powered by the people. We need your help to take back our democracy.
